Plenty of train stations and its 5 mins into central station. You could also hire a nextbike and cycle into the city from shawlands along pollokshaws road/eglington st (impossible to get lost) and will take about 20mins. Its not as far out as you may think. Shawlands/Southside has some great cafes, pubs & parks. Glad I live not that far away from it all.
