| Comment | Recently had to do this as we bought a house mid September and the flat we rented was paid until the end of the month, we had to fill in a few forms and send them off, then got a call about 4 weeks later to ask for more proof.
They needed council tax records for the new place to show we were living there, which is incredibly difficult as they hadn't even processed our request to end the council tax at our old place.
We had a letter from GCC addresses to "the occupier" and even after setting up a direct debit, the confirmation came in the post to "the occupier" which they wouldn't accept.
In the end we had to send them the mortgage paperwork, van rental and proof we had stopped paying our storage locker as proof we had moved!
Have been told around 4 weeks now till they send me my "overpayment and refund for non occupation" for the old place which is around £300. Seems to be no rush from their side. |
