| Comment | Train to Balloch for the bottom part. But cycling or even hiking along the canal and then up the river from Dumbarton is a nice way to spend the day. But Balmaha is a much nicer place than Balloch so I’d train to Balloch then bus to Balmaha. But if you want to go more remote and have more time, and you are going in the next few days, get the train or the bus up to Ardlui, and then the wee ferry across to the other side of the loch for a peaceful walk: https://ardlui.com/hotel/#ferry Ferry finishes on the 8th, restarts next year. |
