Alright mate. Firstly I’m sorry to hear this.

My advice is rent a room somewhere - I’ve done this before and it’s a lot cheaper than renting a flat and also you get the flexibility of being able to try out different areas and not have to worry about furniture etc.

I rented a great room in Newlands (really nice area) for £500 a month all bills included but in all honesty you should be able to do this for a lot less - probably as low as £300/£350 some places!

FYI older women are great to live with as they generally keep the place tidy and will generally be decent company. Once you’ve got established and saved some £ then look at getting a flat for a bit of independence.

Just out of interest what’s driving the decision to claim UC? I assume the state of the job market but for the sake of your mental health and to have a bit of a social life you want to be earning. I’m happy to let you know where I went wrong and what I got right in the job market.
