It’s a very shortsighted approach.
Personally, and this is the third time I’m selling a house, I’d rather not waste time with a buyer who can’t quite afford it, and who might find themselves 3 months down the line with a mortgage offer that’s been withdrawn, or someone who will try to renegotiate the price over a crack in the wallpaper.
But I don’t rule the world (unfortunately).
