Neil Andrew's claims are pretty biased, as well as incorrect and heavily exaggerated. The fact is that Glasgow's most impoverished 10% have a significantly higher life expectany than the average sub-Saharan which makes his point completely moot.
Poverty in Glasgow (including housing, life expectancy, alcohol abuse and drug abuse) has been an issue for a long time - long before the SNP came into power and it can't be solved in a handful years.
I'm not part of the brigade that thinks the SNP is perfect, far from it (I actually vote Green), but it seems pointless to say they have a part in something that they don't. The SNP have had their failures but this isn't one of them. |
