I avoided AA early in my sobriety for the very same reason, that and I didn't think I was a "real" alcoholic as I didn't drink morning till night mon-thu.

There's talk of a higher power of your own understanding, doesn't have to be God, it can literally be anything. Also there's meetings purely for agnostics.

Every meeting can be different as well so I was always told not to judge AA on one meeting alone, go to lots of meetings and you'll find one (ora few)you like.

I wish you all the best mate, its a hard thing to do but the payoff is incredible!
