Comment | Aye. My mum's widowed, lives alone, retired NHS worker and all her friends have someone else to support bubble with. I don't do anything exciting, so visited her 3 times since lockdown 1 began. I am doing it for healthcare reasons, which has always been permitted, but that is about her mental health. She was very social, belong to a lot of groups and loved visiting museums etc, so has had a lot of a her life cut off. Her mental health slowly drops in the gaps between visits, dread to think how she'd be if I hadn't visited. I'll mask up, wash my hands, do bugger all shopping, live on unemployment benefit, but letting my mother lose it ain't happening. |
