Don't get sucked into the circlejerk mentality of "well, drivers break the rules so I can too" or "I KNOW I'm keeping myself safe by breaking X rule" I cycled around the city for over 25 years and any time I had an issue, it was my own damn fault. \-edit- Don't leave your bike out in the street no matter how good you think your lock is. You always run the risk of it being stolen or vandalised if the lock is too stubborn.
