Electric is significantly more expensive. Gas is around 2.5 to 3p per kwhr and electric 14 to 15p per kwhr

That is the cost per unit gas and there are relevant losses through the combustion process, heat exchanger etc but generally 3 times cheaper is a roughly fair estimate.
