Yeh I remember looking in to a pipe I’d cut once and the inside diameter was tiny because of all the build up!
I worked with a guy once that wouldn’t drink the water at work because we had galv’d pipes. I know galv is fairly nasty chemically but I assumed it was fine due to limescale build up.
