I'd agree with the comments. I work in the town and cycle past central every day and sadly it's been this bad for a long long time. If you can move i would. I live in white inch and although it's also not the nicest in some places, you can strike gold if you pick a decent street as the flats are old tenements and are stunning and huge inside.

I have lived in many areas of Glasgow through the years. Need any advice let me know. My friend also owns several properties he rents out and I'd be happy to ask if he has any available just now for you.
