At 15 I got weekend work in a hotel. That was legal late ‘90s for under X hours a week. I presume it will be now. I was paid via bank and it wasn’t a cash in hand gig. I think it was 5 hours one day and 4 the other?
I had a weekend and night job at Sainsbury’s at 16 and I’m sure a lad there was 15. He either had to have parental permission or something from his school?
Aside from either of those my paper round paid £17 a week back in 1998. That’s £30 a week adjusted for inflation. Not a bad wage for someone whose 15. I had two rounds at one point so made double.
