I lived in Govanhill for a while and once had a taxi driver hear I had a North American accent and said to me "make no mistake where you are staying is as bad if not worse than any ghetto you got in America". Which is of course an absolutely absurd statement and just objectively not true.

Govanhill is a little rundown and has a comparatively high crime rate for the area but it is absolutely fine albeit a little dirty. People go absolutely nuts when it comes to assessing danger in Glasgow. |
