| Comment | You want gas if you can get it. It's much cheaper to run than electric heating. Plus, you can't beat hot water coming straight from a combi boiler - makes for an amazing shower. Immersion heaters are a pain in the ass.
You tend to find electric heating in urban areas that don't have gas, and newer houses in rural areas without gas. I'm aware of a big patch of Yoker that doesn't have gas.
If you've got a big old rural house in an area that doesn't have gas, you'll find kerosene boilers. They're cost effective but take up a huge amount of space. |
