I live in Cessnock, its unspectacular and pretty safe. Lots of decent shops nearby but its biggest pro's are its on the subway line (which makes getting to the city / the west end so easy) and its very cheap to live in. Biggest downside is the area has a real problem with flytipping, but so does a lot of the south side
