the only vegan 'cheese' worthy of the name are cultured nut based cheeses that use similar processes to dairy but with nuts as the base rather than milk. Unfortunately they are also more expensive and tend not to melt well.

The kinds of 'cheese' you will find in the supermarket (Sheese, Violife etc) are cheese analogues made from varying quantities of potato starch, coconut oil and artificial cheese flavouring which tastes and smells like either feet or vomit, depending on the brand. These kinds of 'cheese' are unacceptable to anyone with even the most distant sense memory of what actual cheese tasted like.
