I have a hearing impairment and find it really stressful when a cyclist is behind me. I can't hear their bell (if they bother to ring it) and it can be quite disorientating when they come out of nowhere.
Unless it's a shared pathway, pavements are for pedestrians and cyclist belong on the road or in cycle lanes.
