| Comment | I cycle on the path when the road doesnt provide adequate space for cars to overtake, with the obvious caveats that pedestrians have right of way etc, especially when I am cycling with my kids (bike seat or trailer), University avenue with the road works is one place I dont want to be stuck in front of an impatient driver.
One thing to keep in mind is that when I have one of my kids in the bike seat, I really prefer to avoid going up and down kerbs and in and out of tight spaces so I have found myself actually cycling on the road more with a kid.
And as a lot of people have mentioned, the canal path, kelvinwalk way, dawsholm part are all quite nearby you, nice places to be on your bike with kids |
