Comment | Hey! I studied at University of Strathclyde which is next to Caledonian university. I lived in Hyndland G12 and Park District G3 while studying there.
Both postcodes are really connected to the university. It’s a reasonable walk or you can get the return train to Queen Street Station for £2-3/subway to Cowcaddens for £3.
I would highly recommend Hyndland if you can afford it. It has a family vibe. My street had a communal garden and the neighbourhood association would host fireworks nights, summer fetes and bouncy castles there for the families. It feels incredibly safe and there’s no main roads. There’s a small high street with cafes, bakeries, a childrens book shop and a dog groomers. Not sure how old your daughter is but the local high schools Notre Dame and Hyndland Secondary are the top ranked in Glasgow. You’ll probably be looking at £950 for a 2 bedroom flat.
The only area in G12/G3 I’d so to maybe give a miss is Finnieston/Anderston? Just because I think theres nicer areas for your children and dogs.
For pet friendly flats I think you’ll probably have to give all the major letting agencies a miss and look into private landlords.
For internet, Virgin Media. For a phone carrier I’d definitely recommend Vodaphone. My partner is with EE and I often have 4G in places where he gets no internet signal. Voxi has really good deals and coverage too. |
