Comparing Scotland to (presumably Nordic) European countries is absurd. We're a completely different culture.

And in terms of prosperity, Scotland doesn't have remotely enough money to pay back what it owes as it is. Let's imagine all these billions of pounds of debt are wiped though. Where would the money come from? Light crude oil in a world moving away from fossil fuels? Luxury-level booze and meat/fish in a world moving away from booze and meat? Fucking wind farms, then?


The [SNP have already said](https://www.pressandjournal.co.uk/fp/news/politics/scottish-politics/2050793/firms-to-be-hit-by-anti-business-tax-raid-scottish-government-document-reveals/) they'll increase business taxes to attempt to try to cover some of the spending needs so no new employers are very likely to want to move here. Especially with that hard border.
