> Presumably as part of independence negotions we would take a share of UK national debt.

Yes, we would.

> UK national debt is high, but it doesn't need to be paid off.

Is this part of your 'Hope over fear' fantasy?

> Still, I am genuinely surprised that you think the people of Scotland lack the ability to make a living for themselves.

This is what makes CyberNats so offensive, the 'Oh, don't you like your OWN COUNTRY?' angle.
So, professor, how would Scotland fund itself, without the UK and the EU support that we've enjoyed for a generation? How would Scotland fund itself when international businesses pull out and relocate to the north of England? I mean, wealthy pervert Donald Trump was able to delay the building of a wind farm in Scotland for several years, so I guess the SNP could just go back to him? He's obviously got a lot of clout here.

'Yes' just mincing the figures and playing the nationalist card again because there's no real argument for it right now. Well done if you're rich enough that it won't affect you, but you're in a minority. Nationalism in the modern world is ugly however you look at it, whether it's wearing a kilt and reading the Broons or not.
