Your immediate poop-related problem seems to be the router, the placement of it or the channel.

Channel: All of these are easily checked. For 2.4Ghz be on channel 1, 6 or 11 (only use other channels if you absolutely *must* due to neighbours). For 5Ghz just be well away from others. Set both SSIDs to be the same, boom, done. Boot the signal if that's an option.

Your router management interface should help you do this. A wi-fi analyser on your phone is also a help, but it cannot detect EM interference that is _not_ wi-fi.

Placement: Get the rougter away from other interference like wireless telephones, microwaves etc. Buy a longer cable if you need to. A central location is a good place to start. 2.4Ghz will penetrate further than 5Ghz.

Router: The ones from an ISP are basically shit. Get something running OpenWRT or DD-WRT for £100-150 and never have to worry about it again.

If that's too much, buy a "Wireless AP" (sometimes called an "extender"). Plug that into the router & power, configure, boom, done, blackspot is gone. I can't advise on one as I've not had to buy any (yet).

For an *actual* ISP Zen or Andrews & Arnold are probably the best but be aware that you are going to *pay* for their service and speed will depend on the Openreach lines to your property. Zen supply a basic FritxBox and these are _not_ shit (dunno about A&A).

If you can get fibre, do so. It's the best available. Failing that, Virgin but be warned that the SuperHub is absolute garbage and should only be run in modem-mode with you our router doing the heavy-lifting.

If none of that made any sense, seek help from a geeky/nerdy pal. They should accept payment in beer or chocolate.
