Comment | Honestly the council actually did engage in the formation (or supporting the formation) of a new housing association which compulsory purchased some of the worst offending landlords and is working to rehome those tenants in proper conditions - dealing with overcrowding and dilapidations particularly. That covered an area of four streets and has helped remove some the worst offending rogue landlords from the area.
That’s not the only way they need to support. But some efforts are being taken both top down and bottom up via a number of excellent community orgs. As a resident, it’s generally great with tiny pockets of poor (like everywhere) |
