Bingo. I love hiking, and will quite happily do a Munro, but too many of my pals are obsessed with *only* doing Munros.

"Why would you want to do the Cobbler, it's not a Munro?" - Well, cos it's a lovely walk.

"Let's do this route, we can do 2 Munros in one day this way" - Okay, but this route has a nice view of the viaduct.

...and so on. It just feels like some people are more into obsessively "collecting" hills and mountains than they are enjoying the little details. Nan Shepherd wrote a book about the phenomenon in the 70s.
