Can the charity you adopted him from offer any support? Our dog is adopted from overseas and we get lifetime support - not an in-person animal behaviourist but telephone/email contact with people who have lots of experience of issues specific to street dogs. I'm thinking maybe greyhound charities might offer similar. Otherwise look for a behaviourist that does positive reinforcement techniques (rather than any sort of alpha/pack leader nonsense).
Good luck - I've a pal that adopted a greyhound a few years ago and they had a rocky start with him but he's come on so much since then - he's a total different dog and a much loved part of the family. |
