The shortest day this year was December 21st I’m sure so technically the days are getting slightly longer each day but the further north you go, the more light you lose. Paris probably gets about an hour or so more daylight in the winter than Glasgow does. It doesn’t sound like a lot but it does make a difference!

I was in Quebec in September/October a few years ago and I would say it felt more like Parisian weather - cold but sunny. It didn’t rain once in the two weeks I was there. The start of this month in Glasgow was rainy, windy, miserable.

Is there an option for you to choose Paris but fly home via Glasgow? Maybe stay for 5 days or a week at the end of your exchange? There are definitely flights from Glasgow to Halifax (that’s where I flew home from) but not sure about direct to Quebec.
