One thing you may consider is that living in Paris would be twice as expensive or more. Glasgow is a really cheap city in comparison.

I've absolutely loved studying in Glasgow, and I have some friends who have done/are doing post docs in Paris and I hear that though the research is world class, it's a more stressful work environment.

Lastly do not underestimate how much knowing french matters in Paris, they are very proud of their language and almost always will prefer to speak in French. Of course when it's something relevant to you they will speak to you in English but there will be plenty of conversations you will feel left out of because it isn't directly relevant to you. If you're planning to study/work for a more than a few years and have enough time to learn the language while you're there you can consider it. But if you're planning on a 1 year master's degree or so then I don't think you should pick Paris as you won't have enough time to learn the language and feel like you belong there.
