It's about as harsh as thinking that incidents of harassment and assault should be investigated and punished lol
The UK has an unfortunate culture of empty threats and making an example of one or two folk hoping it'll be a deterrent. People know that so they ignore "advice" well aware of the fact the gov are too fucking lazy to enforce the rules or hold people accountable for breaking them. All of which signals that it's not really that big of a deal.
The same zero tolerance policies that we have for verbal/physical abuse should've been applied to covid rules. Would've loved to have seen the crowds hanging out in Tesco and folk not wearing masks banned. But even the fuckin staff are at it so 🤷 |
