The truth is it used to be quite bad and has always had this stigma. My mate used to live there and it was not nice but that was 10 years ago. Now I regularly go to Victoria road and cycle through it in the good old days when you could go to town. Clearly there has been concerted regeneration efforts. I have lived all over the city and the chat is always the same. I remember the exact same chat when I lived in Dennistoun and I loved it. I dare say there are pockets and people you wouldn’t chose to live near if you had the choice but I have never lived anywhere where there is not the occasional banger. I am no fan of Sturgeon let me tell you but even I have to agree it’s used as ‘look at her constituency’ far too often. |
