We adopted our dog in January last year through Viktor's Pawprints - they're a small charity which rescues and rehomes street dogs in Romania and Macedonia. They take care to find the right home for each dog and they give lifetime free post-adoption support.
They're a good bunch of people and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them - I know there are some dodgy characters in overseas adoption circles.
