Haha was the crumpet just a large pancake rather than a toasting crumpet? My family have about a billion different names for pancakes and I'm not sure if it's a west of Scotland thing - pancakes, crimpets, crumpets, drop scones.

The potatoes are called fritters.

Try plain bread - it's made by Mother's Pride. It's really dense in comparison to pan bread.
