I’ve had letters dated say the 10th Jan and the post mark from their franking machine on the letter states the 16th etc
I think this is down to ineptitude rather than anything else. I’m sure I complained about it once when they were tapping me up for money by a set date for something and they immediately yielded (possibly when I moved to a new flat years ago on my return to Glasgow).
For some reason they cancelled our direct debit (checked with the bank and they said it was the council’s end) and then sent threatening letters to both me and the Mrs (one each lol) saying they wanted paid for the council tax 🙄
Tried to call to get the DD in place again but obviously the recorded message states no ones available due to Covid (amazing as I’m a civil servant working from home and people can call me)...... luckily it’s sorted now.
They are shite though.
Weirdly NS stated Glasgow or Scotland (I can’t remember which) has a the cheapest council tax in the UK.... I moved back to Glasgow after spending 3 years in Oxford and the CT was a lot cheaper there and there was no rubbish or mattresses knocking about... but there we go. |
