My parents live in a three bedroom detached in a rural county in Scotland and they pay the same tax I do for a one bed flat give or take. Their council is widely regarded as shite there (probably the same as everywhere), but as you say atleast they manage to pick the bins up/grit the roads/send someone out to litterpick.

The worst thing is the folk that moan saying it’s the people’s fault no the councils fault there is litter everywhere don’t see the mutant sized seagulls rattling into bin bags and spreading rubbish and the wind taking it down the street. Because the council hasn’t picked half the city’s bins up on time and folk are having to stack bags on top of already full bins.
