| Comment | I was talking to a security guard in the taxi one day and he said something that changed my entire perspective on shoplifting.
He said depending on what kind of stuff a person is trying to steal will depend on whether he turns around to pretend he didn't see it. An obvious junkie stealing hardware or whatever is a shoplifter and he'll pull them. But, someone stealing fanny pads, nappies or a bag of pasta is a poor cunt struggling to survive and has run out of options. He had no problem turning a blind eye to someone just trying to feed themselves or making sure their baby had nappies.
I always had the "all shoplifters are cunts" attitude, but he really turned me around on it and made me realise that some people are just that fucked in life. |
