Oof, I actually only use one brush (and like, two layers) 😅 so not sure what advice I could give - I use a kyle webster inking brush and then the smudge tool. It really helps looking at Japanese animation and the way they stylise clouds and make them look nice. I pull up a bunch of animation and photo refs and then just play around by eye. 🙂 Acrylic painting also really helped me - It's not easy to make things blend and look soft with acrylics, so if you can do that, then the transition to digital actually simplifies things. What kind of work do you usually make? Always nice to meet a fellow artist. |
