| Comment | It might be illegal in theory, but it doesn’t mean the letting agency is automatically dodgy when asking for it. As I said, I’ve never come across an agency that wouldn’t ask for it. They ask you to pay it before they complete all credit checks which takes time. Plus, it doesn’t really hurt anyone if that money later goes towards your full deposit or rent which you would then need to pay in full anyway. |
