As much as I agree, in an ideal world, the next bin would be nearby and not also overflowing.. But oftentimes, I've carried stinking fast food containers for a mile, passing several overflowing bins. In the end, I had to dump it beside an overflowing bin because it would be rank to carry stinking chips & curry sauce onto a packed bus.. This problem is systemic. I lived years in Australia and they don't have overflowing bins. In Castlemilk, the bins would fill up and they'd remain full all week, often for weeks because they're not emptied often enough.


Then you have another problem.. The bins at my mother's house aren't big enough, and the council's solution is "take it to the dump". We have a failure of local government/council, and although I agree.. We as a society are manky bastards, it isn't so black and white as some people like to advocate while sitting behind a computer screen.
