Comment | I think cities are cities. Well, most of them, anyway. I remember when my husband and I went to Seattle in 2011 - people warning us about 'aggressive beggars'. We were used to Brighton so we felt totally prepared. I don't think we encountered a single one (despite making a Singles/Grunge pilgrimage to Pioneer Square).
I've had people approaching me for money in Glasgow before, even when on my own, but I've never thought much of it. I find that usually a polite answer, or a 'sorry mate', does the job.
Obviously there will always be unlucky circumstances. You just have to cross your fingers, I guess. |
