Push the data the other way (ssh you@old-server "rsync -azP /stuff you@new-server:/destination") or try an SSH reverse proxy. Pump the connections over port 53, 80 or 443 if you need to.
Actually, repeatedly hitting it with rsync should _eventually_ get everything.
Making it hard to access yourt stuff is shitty behaviour.
