Can't say I've lived there, but travel through it. Seems well dodgy still. Union St like shit tbh. I think it's always been dodgy, as would any other city centre near the main railway station. Think Covid heightened it.
Lived in a few cities across UK & Europe and would never live near the main station. It just attracts everything. It's like a magnet. They'll be great flats, etc, but you have to balance that with quality of life when you walk outside. It's fluid. Never stays the same. You might like that, but at my age I want to walk out the door and not get hassled.
Just my two cents. Not trying to put you off. Maybe others wil be more positive. Just a personal experience.
