That article is more about the tenements in the hands of slum landlord in Govanhill and the like (they are falling apart) that won’t have had any maintenance carried out on them for decades.
Generally tenements in Partick etc will be fine. You can tell from looking at one (generally) what’s well maintained and what isn’t (obvs you’ll want to read the survey as well, but the outside and close is usually a good indication).
The report mentions social housing in Govanhill, Ibrox, Cessnock, East Pollokshields, Strathbungo, Haghill and Dennistoun. If you avoid flats in blocks that have high numbers of cheap (very cheap) rented flats and social flats you’ll be grand.
I remember worrying that every tenement had higher than normal (but safe) readings for damp so I didn’t view them based on the home report, until realising due to their design and age this is normal and totally safe.
Some will probably post up a story of a tenement collapsing here to spook you, but I live in a tenement and can assure you they’re fine.
Repairs will be more due to their age - but there we go. It’s part of their charm.
