The provider is Vital Energi, I could be wrong but I think the contract is on behalf of Glasgow City Council. I had to have a Heat Agreement signed before I was allowed to conclude the purchase of the property.

I’ve been here since August 2015 and I’ve not had any additional charges at all - there was an issue with a loose connector when I moved in but Vital repaired that at no charge.

I’m not 100% sure what would happen if there was a massive fault with the connection - I THINK that the maintenance fee would cover that.

They also don’t service anything outside of the heat unit in the house - radiator pipes etc aren’t covered.

There is a usage charge, a standing charge and a maintenance fee. I pay my bill every three months, I think that’s standard with Vital but again could be wrong, the highest my bill (only me at home) has been about £110. There’s an electronic meter in the Heating Box which sends all the meter readings.

I know some people have a pay as you go meter and haven’t had such a smooth experience - the Facebook page “Dalmarnock Matters” sometimes had people complaining on it about Vital.

I’ve not had any real cause for complaint with Vital. My bills are lower than my previous property but that could also be because I hardly have the heating on - the house is very warm most of the time. There’s been a couple of times when the hot water has failed for a few hours at a time - the longest was overnight. Meant a cold shower but on the whole I’ve been pleased.

A few people who stayed in the Village have moved over to Riverside.

Hope that’s answered a few things - let me know if there’s anything else.
