It came to a head last week when Cherry decided to celebrate Holocaust Remembrance Day by defending some twitter account that got banned for transphobia and anti semitism, then celebrating the various ammendements to Humza Yousaf's hate bill act which gave a specific exception for transphobia and in a special twist, conversion therapy!
The SNP LGBT group OutForIndy said transphobia was bad and Cherry took that extremely personally and reported them / threatened to sue them(? losing track), this was the final straw for a large amount of LGBT activists within the SNP and let to 20+ high profile activists quitting the party.
It seems like the activists quitting has finally prompted the party leadership to take action about the issue and this is it, the pro conversion therapy ammendments have also been withdrawn |
