Comment | It really depends. Some agencies are very landlord-centric and they don’t really pay attention to the tenants at all resulting in repairs never being attended to. My Ayrshire letting agent was in some serious breach of both repairing standards and HMO regulations - they rented out a non HMO flat to 3 foreign students and when the council found out a few years later (I called environmental health to help me with a ONE YEAR OLD CEILING LEAK that the agency was seemingly unable to fix...) they said to them that we lied about the amount of people in the property and tried to blame it all on us. I do agree, there are some dodgy landlords who refuse to pay for any repairs which has nothing to do with the agents, but there are also some seriously fucked up agencies who think they can get away with everything. |
