We have no experience and are trying to plan a trip to the Maldives in September, our hotel does offer PADI certifications, but at £860 per person for the open water certification, we are keen to do it before hand. And it would most probably be easier to get it all sorted before leaving to allow us to hit the ground running when/if we arrive there.
As it is a trip to the maldives, we are not going to be able to bring any diving kit with us either, so we most probably wouldn't buy much before getting certified if that changes anything.
I must say that I actually look forward to trying out diving in Scotland, even with the the wonderful Scottish weather. There seems to be some incredible places around here and it would be nice to see them from a different perspective. We might join a club once this is all out of the way, in which case I might reach out to you.
Regarding the operators, the Scuba Diving Scotland was the one that I had somehow kept in line, good to hear that recommendation from you. I will reach out to them to see if it feel right for me. |
