| Comment | With walking time, I often think minutes is preferable, and just use a relaxed pace. 1min for QS, 8min for Bus Station, 5min for Central.
The thing is, people are planning their journey in time, not distance, if I am due for a 10:30 train, knowing whether the walk is 5 of ten minutes is a decent size deal. Also, I may live here, but I have no internal sense of yards, same as many don’t have an internal sense of meters.
Oh, I think I forwent a bit of local knowledge, Buchanan Street, and St Enoch, are almost exactly equidistant. If you are travelling clockwise it’s quicker to get off at Buchanan, anti-clockwise is St Enoch. There’s barely 30 seconds in it to walk them. |
