| Comment | Thanks again for the insights, to add some extra background, I am not going to be stressed if we don't get certified before we leave, but if we don't we won't be able to afford spending £2k to do it there so we would be limited to snorkelling I guess, which would be a shame as I won't be returning to the maldives again. We could always to the PADI discovery dives that start at £150pp.
I am also looking so far in advance to get my expectations in line with reality, and this is 100% a research phase before we decide to commit once things become clearer, so I fully appreciate the honesty in your post and the others here. The websites that I have found have mostly not been updated in a year so I guessed that things were just about frozen at this point in time.
We also can't currently push back the trip to next year as I have a voucher to use this year towards the trip that expires at the end of the year (complex story, but not extensible), this is actually the only reason why we selected the maldives. |
