You’d need to check the wording. Most will just say you have to report it as soon as is reasonably possible - for any type of insurance. No insurer would ever get away with rejecting a claim because you didn’t report it within 24 hours, especially a product sold to the general public.

With motor insurance, insurers like to be told as soon as possible, because by the time you get home after nudging someone at 5 mph in a supermarket car park, they have already got their doctors report about how you caused them whiplash, along with their niece, best pal, work colleague and dog who were all in the car at the time, and are now having flash backs.

It’s good to report anything ASAP - if it doesn’t come to a claim, close it with them and they shouldn’t increase your premium.
