I was really scared of it for this season so I bought a SAD light and resolved to go outside for a walk at lunch whenever it wasn't tipping it down. I also started a new hobby that I reserved for when it was dark outside.

I had the light on every morning from 8am to midday and religiously went outdoors whenever possible, and that resulted in me having the least bad winter since I moved here.

Going outdoors felt like it was the key for me, direct daylight can't substitute for electric light, but I did feel that having the SAD light on during the dark mornings also made a significant difference for me.
